CHARACTERIZATION AND CHALLENGES OF THE RESEARCH CULTURE IN TWO STATE UNIVERSITIES IN LIMA, PERU; [CARACTERIZACIÓN Y DESAFÍOS DE LA CULTURA INVESTIGATIVA EN DOS UNIVERSIDADES ESTATA-LES DE LIMA, PERÚ]

Abstract

The present study aims to evaluate the research culture through the perception of undergraduate and graduate students in two state universities in Lima, Peru. The study is presented within the quantitative methodological approach with a non-experimental, transectional, correlational, comparative design in a probabilistic, stratified and proportional sample. A total of 324 students participated in the study and were administered a questionnaire developed online using the Google Form, which was validated through the judgment of experts. The results obtained show that the research culture is in the process of development in both universities. On the other hand, it is demonstrated that there is a positive, high and statistically significant correlation between its components: investigative attitude and investigative culture (Rho=0.772; p<0.01); investigative conception of the curriculum and investigative culture (Rho=0.865; p<0.01); investigative management and investigative culture (Rho=0.891; p<0.01); investigative communication and investigative culture (Rho=0.865; p<0.01). It is concluded that the investigative attitude, investigative conception of the curriculum, investigative management and investigative communication are significantly related to the investigative culture. © 2022, University of Cienfuegos, Carlos Rafael Rodriguez.
