dc.description.abstractThe main objective of this study was to try to provide explanations about the nature of motivation in the management of digital skills and its influence on academic performance in the area of Science and Technology. To this end, a quantitative tool was applied to observe the discourses and perceptions and they were framed based on the notions of emotion and autopoieisis from the debate on the biological nature of scientific knowledge developed by Humberto Maturana. The sample included 98 first and second year high school students, in a Peruvian educational institution during the year 2023, through census measurement. The results revealed a predominance of regular levels in motivation (51.0%), digital skills (65.3%) and learning in Science and Technology (54.1%), which depend largely (41.6%) on motivation and the development of digital skills. The relationship between digital skills and motivation is reflected on the principle that cybernetics reflects the vital structural systems of students, allowing to relate the management of the machine with the dynamic sense of life. © 2025 Universidad Nacional Experimental Rafael Maria Baralt.
