Resumen
The dynamism and consequent transformation of today’s society, as well as the increase in population, merit the provision of quality public services, which are executed in a timely manner, by the means in force; it is in this sense that the concern emerges to develop mechanisms and tools to increase the work performance of the collaborators who are part of the institutions. The objectives of this study are, in the first place, to determine the type of relationship between internal control and work performance, as well as the relationship between the dimensions of internal control, efficiency and effectiveness, and work performance. For this purpose, the study has a quantitative, correlational and descriptive approach, with a cross-sectional design and a hypothetical-deductive methodology. The results revealed that there is a direct, high and significant correlation between internal control, and its efficiency and effectiveness dimensions, with the work performance variable. It was concluded that internal control processes and work performance are essential to achieve organizational objectives. © 2024, Universidad del Zulia. All rights reserved.
