The objective of this report is to determine the influence of the Duolingo application and the comprehension of English texts in students in the fourth year of secondary school at an educational institution. The type of research used is of application and the design was pre-experimental, the research method is hypothetical-deductive. The procedure for obtaining data was by means of an entry and exit test with 20 items in relation to the comprehension of texts in English. Through the T-Student statistical method, a sample of 26 students of non-probabilistic sampling was considered. In the entrance test, most of the students were found in a process level (65.38 %) and in the exit test 57.69 % of the students reached the level of outstanding achievement. Therefore, the general hypothesis of study was verified with a result of p-value 0.00032702. In this sense, it was concluded that the Duolingo application significantly influences the comprehension of English texts in the students of the study sample. © 2024, Associacao Iberica de Sistemas e Tecnologias de Informacao.
