Educational management and business vision: a critical view; [Gerencia educativa y visión empresarial: una mirada crítica]

Resumen

For some decades, the spirit of efficiency and quality of business administration has permeated the different organizations that make life in Latin American societies, especially those managed from the public sector. The educational management adopted administrative models of a technocratic and instrumental nature in order to achieve the goals of the organization. The objective of this work is to describe the business vision of educational management from a critical approach. The research corresponds to a documentary and/or bibliographical theoretical review. The reflections showed that these management trends move educational organizations away from their fundamental purpose, quality education with social commitment, replacing it with technical instruction. It is concluded that contemporary educational managers must be trained to develop technical, conceptual and human skills, from a flexible and diverse management. © 2022, Universidad del Zulia.
