| dc.description.abstract | Teaching students to learn is an objective of the complex processes of teaching and learning English as a foreign language, like everything related to the didactics of languages in general. There are many and varied teaching methods, strategies and procedures that have been applied throughout history to facilitate, improve and solve educational and learning problems. The communicative approach and formative evaluation are part of these strategies that are carried out. Evaluating the effec-tiveness of these methods has been the objective of this research. For which a query was made to the evaluation records of 55 students from the Faculty of Pedagogy and Physical Culture, Cycle 2021-II, of the National University “Enrique Guzmán y Valle” prior to the application of these methods and after apply them. In addition to consultations with experts, made up of a group of professors of this discipline. The methods used were the documentary review, the Iadov method to evaluate the level of satisfaction of teachers and the Saaty AHP method. © 2022, University of Cienfuegos, Carlos Rafael Rodriguez.
