Resumen
The objective of the study was to determine the level of basic motor skills possessed by Peruvian university students. The study was of a simple descriptive type, cross-sectional, and the sample consisted of 462 students. The Gallahue test was used to determine the level of motor skills. Of the five skills observed: running, jumping, catching, throwing and kicking, in four of them more than half of the university students are at the elementary level, that is, they possess the skill that a 4-year-old child should have; only in the “catching” test a significant majority is placed in the mature level. © 2022, University of Cienfuegos, Carlos Rafael Rodriguez.
