The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the project method in the learning of industrial chemistry in students of the fourth semester of Industrial Engineering of a private university, located in the city of Lima, Peru. The topics addressed through this methodology were: laboratory safety standards, materials, reagents and laboratory equipment, density of liquids and solids, physical and/or chemical phenomena, methods of separation of mixtures and measurement of pH and Brix degrees. The research approach was a quantitative quasi-experimental design with pretest and posttest in an experimental and a control group. The results showed that the implementation of the project method significantly influenced learning in the experimental group. © 2022 Facultad de Quimica, UNAM. All rights reserved.
